Hey everyone! For 5th Sunday we had a few lessons on Home/Visiting Teaching. We had five great mini-lessons all about why Home/Visiting Teaching are important, and how we can improve our Home/Visiting Teaching. Some of the main points from the lessons were that the Lord gave us the opportunity to do Home/Visiting Teaching so that we can become better friends with our brothers and sisters in the ward. By fulfilling our callings to teach we can create friendships with people, strengthen each other, and answer prayers. We have all been encouraged to continue to fulfill our callings to bring about the Lord's work and to strengthen and learn from each other.
If anyone has any ideas for how to improve our Home/Visiting Teaching, or any thoughts from today's lesson, feel free to comment below!

FHE (Harry Potter Style) and the Sabbath Day
(I apologize that it's taken me a while to get this updated, but we should be back on track from now on.)
At the last FHE activity we played Quidditch in the cultural hall and boy was that an adventure. Heather taught us the rules of the game and we were divided into three teams. Yes there were minor injuries; one of them including Michael R.'s glasses being knocked off his head but he proved to be a trooper. If I remember right it was Team #1 that won the tournament and Team #2 was a close second place. I will put up some pictures of the event soon.
This past fast Sunday we had a fabulous testimony meeting. We learned that our new ward goal is Moroni 10:32 or spiritual CPR: Come to Church and participate; Pray each morning and night and when the spirit directs; Read from the scriptures daily.
In Gospel Doctrine we learned that part of the Savior's mission was to 1-preach good tidings to the meek, 2-bind up the broken hearted, 3-proclaim liberty to the captives and 4-comfort those that mourn. Also that Jesus is the life and true light and that we can walk where He walked by having his spirit to be with us.
In Relief Society the sister's learned (but the brother's can apply as well) about goal setting and working through those stumbling blocks the year might present us with. With goals we need to 1-take things step by step or focus on only one or two goals a month, 2-prepare by making a game plan, 3-work hard, 4-make our Heavenly Father a part of the equation, and 5-have a reward system for ourselves and build ourselves up. Also remember that Satan wants us to get discouraged and think we can't accomplish things, but with the Lord all things are possible, friends can help support us and even if we fall we can learn from that experience.
